Several of my female colleagues enjoyed gossiping exceedingly that it began to affect the efficiency of our team. As a candid man, sometimes my impatience gave me away which merely served as one more food for them. On one occasion I lost my temper and exchanged sharp remarks with them; they were stunned,  unwilling to believe their eyes that the amicable gentle fellow was suddenly transformed into an angry man. They kept their distance for several days. The tension made me uncomfortable. Fortunately the boss stepped in and invited us all out to have a good time together. All of us became friendly again, they enjoying their petty talk, I taking pleasure in literature. The lesson I learnt is that if people won’t come to you, you go to them. By listening to their sorrows and complaints one could really get to know what they need and what they are after. Mutual respect is a key to the success of a team, even if it means that you have to concede some trivialities. There is no such intolerable people that you cannot win over once you set your heart to.
