Who Is to Blame

352 views. 2010-4-30 22:36 |

The former peace and quietness of the school campus have vanished in the recent decades, a phenomenon reaffirmed by the recent incident taking place in a middle school of Guangdong. Like a captain in his company, the teacher commands respect and reigns supreme in his class; but the golden days are over in China, as wealth and power have puffed up a new generation who openly challenge this rule and regard this like dirt. When three students were cheating during an exam, a teacher warned them of their indecencies several times, but these scoundrels not only disregarded the warnings but go to such extremes as to assail the teacher in broad daylight.  The sad thing is that the young rats were still dissatisfied and enlisted the help of a blackguard who immediately volunteered his assistance and attacked the teacher with more violence which badly hurt the victim. Such heinous crimes have seldom heard in a civilized country before. The teachers rallied together and demanded the punishment of the criminals. On hearing the news one gang member fled and vanished, becoming a wanted man of the police. No penalties against the students were known at present. Generally their rich parents could buy them out, using behind the scene influence as well as openly apologizing for their misdeeds. The public wanted to know:  how  such a trend come into existence? Should the newly rich tread his poor brothers underfoot?  Someday, I believe, the majority will make their sting felt.

It seems since the reform and opening-up, the gap between the rich and the poor increased than before. And the whole world is becoming more and more in the atmosphere of worshiping the money. Some day, sooner or later, our society will have a very serious upheaval. Then the society will be better than now.
