I came here by accident in April this year when I was preparing to leave Macau for Beijing. The design of this web is customer-oriented as its two interfaces simultaneously cater to the needs of different levels of English learners or different needs of the same group. Aside from building and decorating my own space, I often allot some time to browse the dioWiki where many excellent resources as well as dozens of interesting essays are available. What makes it especially appealing is that the articles or works are culled by our friends of this web, thereby saving much effort on some common topics. For four months I have been a regular visitor no matter how busy I have been these days, and I want to share my viewpoints with my friends on how to build it up into a cozier place.
Making friends has been the most rewarding for me. Bluebird, Empty-Empty, Katherinefc, ly.identity and Fairy are among the many with whom I have made acquaintance recently. Littlegrass and 2010jj are new comers, whose enthusiasm is keen. Exchanging with them even in anonymity brings joy to me. For this I am grateful to the administrators who sponsor and support this web.
Reading the blogs of my friends and reply candidly is an obligation. Reciprocating to one another is essential in nurturing friendship, whether virtual or real. Some friends have jumped to a hasty conclusion that there were not quality articles here when they haven’t bothered to read carefully the many essays here. The gold will not glint without the sweat and toil of the goldsmiths, so is learning. I have browsed every blogs written by Marklee, Bluebird, Rainecho and ly.identity , and I think they have done a great job. Yolandalv is only a middle school student and has written several long passages which is really praiseworthy. I know there are several other friends like Catnfish who has also written many interesting articles but with whom I haven’t made friends as they have already built up their own circle of friends and we cannot have too many friends.
Passion, however strong initially, is bound to diminish and dwindle into insignificance, but true zest persists. When I thumbed through my diary which I have written for two years, I found that my command in words had no perceptible improvement. The reason is that there is no audience, be it critical or laudatory. After I began to publish my blogs on dioEnglish, the situation has changed completely. I felt it obligatory to be responsible to what I have to say, so I have to take care of my words, which naturally have boosted my English power. Exchange with each other is mutually beneficial. Anyhow there is no need to purposely woo your readers at this stage, we should concentrate on sharpening our skills— repetitive tyro’s stunts will dull the most enthusiastic audience. I am also very busy, but once started, it is better to keep at it, a test of my tenacity and perseverance.
