My circle of friends is not very big. In fact, there are only two friends who I talk to regularly, about personal things. While sometimes it may seem better to have larger circles of friends, I think that two is just the right number for true friends to be around at school, and to talk to about my troubles. One of my friends, whose name is Tiffany, had been my friend since freshmen year in high school. We had first met at a school dance in 8th grade. But we really got to know each other in freshmen year. From Tiffany, I have learned so much about this world, this society, and also about myself. Tiffany influences me a lot in many ways. She is the one who always drags me to attend school events such as plays and fundraisers, as well as the one who influenced me to devote more time to hanging out. My eyes have opened to different perspectives from being with Tiffany, because although other people often call us the twins, we are different in some ways of thinking. Aside from that, the two of us have developed such privities that not only do we always reach tacit agreements, we also often give out the same exclamations in response to occurrences. Although we do have rare fights, I believe that it is through these fights that we understand each other more and that we build a stronger friendship from.
I met my other friend, Megan, in the beginning of freshmen year. We were in the school band together, and we quickly became band buddies. Whenever there were marching band events at football games, the two of us always carpooled and spent our times at those events together. There are many funny stories between Megan. She is such a fun person to be around, and whenever I talk to her I feel a sense of cheerfulness and relaxation. Megan is also a great artist. We are both dreamers, and we have designed our own comics, which depicts the daily stories of our lives. Unfortunately we haven’t had much time lately to devote to drawing the comics. However, we do hope that one day we will complete a whole series, simply just to keep the memories of our school age lives.
Besides Tiffany and Megan, I also have a circle of friends from China whom I have kept in touch with since moving here to the U.S. five years ago. I know that they will always be there to support me, and just like them, I will always be here for them whenever they need me. The distance of the Pacific Ocean in between does not matter to us. We are all in different parts of the world now, and we are all working hard to achieve our dreams. I believe in each and every one of us, because we have each other.
As can be seen, my circle of friends is not very big, but I cherish each and every one, and I know I always will.
