haircutting

One of my friends moved to other part of the city. She left one member card of a barbershop and I could use it for once. This morning, after sending my daughter to the kindergarten, I decided to go there to have my hair cut. This afternoon, another college classmate will come to visit and we have made the appointment. We have never seen each other after graduation for almost 15 years. In order to make more impressive and formal, I would like to be in good state.

On my way there, I asked about the specific location on the phone to my friend. After knowing how much it cost once, I teased her of the extravagance. She said it was hard to do her hair and to pay more could ensure one more skilled barber. Actually, I didn’t agree but said nothing.

At last, I found it. It turned out to be a bigger barbershop, with not-cheap charge. After washing my hair, the receptionist asked whether I demanded the regular barber’s service. After getting my answer “whatever”, she ushered me to a seat, one man standing behind it. I couldn't see what he looked like without wearing glasses. I just wanted to have my fringe cut. It was an easy job, so I didn’t inquiry which one was the excellent one here.

Everything went badly. During the process, I didn’t think he was the right one to do this easy job. In order to avoid embarrassment, I didn’t ask for the change. After getting home, I found, in the mirror, the fringe was like the dog’s tooth, out of order. I had the urge to go back to question and even took my purse, ready to go. However, on the second thought, I gave it up. Perhaps, he was a green hand. I had the right to complain, but he would be in the awkward position. Why not give the chance for him to be practiced. It didn’t affect more, just the fringe.

Then I took the scissor and did it by myself.

It is respectful of you to tidy up yourself to meet your friend. It does give a good impression. I wonder what it was like meeting your friend again after so many years?

Talking about hairdressers, it is always an adventure when I go hairdressers in China. My hair is straight and silky. Should be easy to cut. Seems they never cut hair for foreigners and they are afraid to cut my hair. They say are you sure you want to cut the sides short? Can't reverse after it is cut. Are you sure? Everytime, I had to give the same answer in a stern note; Just cut it short ok? Don't worry, my hair would grow back in a few weeks. My mom calls me hairy baby since birth.

P.S. Note:
Your writing is ok but sometimes the contents are quite confusing.
Seems you are weak in organizing the contents.
''She said it was hard to do her hair and to pay more could ensure one more skilled barber.'' (What does this mean?)

After reading few times, I don't know if my guess is correct;
- You went for a haircut
- Your friend meets you at an extravagant place (expensive restaurant?)
- Your friend also went for her haircut?

As a Chinese people I can understand what does she mean.

She means her friend didn't satisfy the barber's job, but if you pay more, you can chose an senior barber in that shop.

sorry for making confusion
I meant she thought her hair was hard to keep smooth and she could find a skilled barber if she paid more.
Thanks for pointing out the Chinglish in my writing, which has been annoying me. If you find more, please let me know. Thanks again.

Ah I see. This is much more clear, but strange, how come you can write it so  accurately now? Good clarification anyway.
