Yesterday, a 49 year old Spanish lady claimed that the sun is her property. She based her claim on a notary certificate in which she had formalized her ownership. She is planning to let everybody pay for using the sun. An international agreement states that states cannot own planets or stars, but it does not say anything about individuals. According to the web version of the Spanish news paper El Mundo, she wants to donate half of what she gains to the Spanish Government, to solve the current financial problems, due to the (past?) economic crisis.
The moon and some of the stars are claimed by an American. Is this a smart move, or does it make no sense at all? Is this the future? What would you like to own?
