How Do You Like Your Friends?

Without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods. Luckily, I always have a lot of friends, who care for me whenever I need.
I'm the kind of person likes to make friends wherever I go.In my childhood, more than a dozen friends of mine would play together in our yard every nightfall. We were usually interested in specific things and conceived lots of plans. Now I still remember many games we played, which are my best memories. Likewise, I made many good friends in middle school and I believe some are life-long.

However, I grow up and come to understand friendship can be risky, too. Some people just don't cherish you, they are not your type of tea.
After attending college, I gave much effort to build a friendship with a girl. I was disappointed by her time and time again and what saddened me most is her ignorance. She igore our appointment without even an explanation. She doesn't care about how worried I can be. She replies my phone calls or text messages tardily or even no answers. Not until a year later did I find she and I just can't make peace together, we quarrel a lot more than comman sense. She said I hurt her and I didn't care about her at all. No kidding!
What should I do?

- Clearly your friend does not have the confidence that you have. She may feel you and her are not at the same level. Some people use repulsive methods to cover their lack of self confidence. It is quite common. Try telling her some of your failures or disappointments so that she may feel you really care.

I conceal my disappointments and sadness almost everytime,pretending to be fine,pretending our friendship is OK.
Do I really sacrifice too much to get a balanced friendship?
