Today I am thinking over the following instructive story.
A bitter person goes to a monk and tells him that he has some things and people he can't let down in his mind. The monk says nothing in the world cannot be put down. But the person insisted he really can't do that. After hearing his trouble, the monk fetches him a cup and let him grasp it in his hand, and meanwhile lets him pour hot water into the cup until the water overflows. The poor person immediately releases his cup just when hot water burns his hand. So the monk earnestly says to the bitter person " Nothing in the world cannot be let down. Bitterly painful, you will naturally put everything down."
You will never be happy before you learn to let it down.
