What's wrong with Chinese university student?

These days,nearly all the universitiy student in China have examminations.At the same time,we can find the phenomenon of cheating widely spread.I want to know why all these can happen.
A teacher in our school had a survay a few days ago but get no exact answers.Some owe the cause of this phenomenon to the society,some think it is because of the bad values of the student.In my point of view,this may cause for two reasons.On the one hand,folks in China like following the fashion,they follow this without hesitation.On the other hand,they want to get a high score with little pay.
How can this problem solved,I don't know.Actually,the cause of the phenomenon is complex.I don't know either.Can you tell me why?
I want to know whether this is a widely spread phenomenon in other countries,and their view upon test.What they do means what.Everything?Nothing?Or other answers.

- Cheating exists everywhere. I don't know how many students Cheat in China, but i think it is caused by the big pressure on students to get high grades because of the hard competition between students. In Europe, there is less competition and usually more chances to pass a single test. If they fail a test, it is not a big problem, they can do it again. A high score is nice, but not nessasary.
To conclude, if there are differences in they way students cheat in Europe and China, then it's caused by the pressure students feel.

- In our university, there still exists cheating ,but not very common.Good students rarely cheat.It is those students who do other things in college rather than studying.However, we should not lable them,cause them may learn some practical skills or something more appealing to them.Only they can measure their gains and loss.

- In my opinion, this is exam-oriented education's defects. Students should do lots of course. In fact, they only like to some of them.If you do not like it,or it has no means. One has to take some measures to keep passing.
