A University Day

671 views. 2010-6-23 22:25

If I’m asked to use a word to describe our university and university life, I will use the word “various”. Scenes in Southwest University are changing all the time, especially different in the daytime and in the evening, so is our life. Therefore, I will use a university day to reflect our various university lives.

Today is Monday. My roommates and I got up as usual. After we finished washing, we packed our bags, had our breakfast in the Orange Canteen and then went to the third building for self-study. The third building is my favorite place for self-study. The first reason is that it is the nearest building to our dorm. It takes us the least time and energy to find a classroom. Next is my own emotion. Many of my fellow-townsmen belong to this department, and I always can meet them in this building. I can feel a sense of safety and belonging here especially when I was a freshman. The environment here is another reason to attract me. Passing by in front of it, you may not pay attention. It has only 3 floors outside and most of them are hidden behind trees. The main colors of the building are white and blue. Both of them are not strong stimulus to our eyes. However, change your path and you will find another wide scene and fall in love with it. There is a pathway stretching to the back of the building. On the way, you can find tables and chairs made by wood placed there for you to have a rest or study. Here you will never be afraid of hotness. Many tall trees provide enough shadow and at the same time the fresh air. Notice the building again, you must be surprised at another floor under the ground and four big classrooms behind the front building. They form a symmetrical shape. The whole may look like a Chinese character “” when looking down on an aeroplane. There is a small square behind the building. Many students choose this place to read aloud in the morning and play badminton in the late afternoon. When they are tired, the several benches are ready to serve them. Sounds pleasant? You can try here next time.

Oh, it’s time for class. Please follow me to our department. It is an old and deep culture cultivated building, but it is a little bit complex. As a person who has no sense of direction, I always got lost here before. Regardless of this, welcome to our class. You can meet my lovely classmates and lovely teachers. This class is grammar and writing, so you are lucky to know our Mr. Yang. He has a round face, wears glasses and often wears leisure wear. He is a responsible teacher, even-tempered and lovely. Once he forgot to take his UDisk. He just said, “Wait me for 10 minutes.” and then disappeared. He came back on time and we were all surprised at his speed. What’s more, Mr. Yang is very gentlemanly. Here’s an example. One day, Joice was late for class. Mr. Yang came to open the door and made a gesture-please-to let Joice come in. Freya and I both noticed this and said together, “Wow, so gentlemanly!” During a year’s acquaintanceship, we consider Mr. Yang both as a friend and as a respectable teacher.

After a day’s study, we’d better relax. Well, I have not had dinner with Wen Jie for several weeks. Make a phone call and go out for dinner. Wen Jie and I met when we learned free combat. We seem to be old friends when we first met. She is very forthright and bold. Her voice can be heard tens of meters far when she doesn’t shout. She has a big forehead, also wears glasses and likes to wear sports clothes. You may think her as a PE student at the first sight because of her slightly strong body. As a matter of fact, she is an art major. This character may be not very obvious. However, I can sense her particular ideas and her sensitive feelings on drawings when she takes me to their building to watch the art exhibition and explain them to me, and can sense her crazy in doing her work when she meets me with her untidy hair. It seems that we have little in common, but I think perhaps we have something deeper in common and this causes us close friends. We have ever flied KongMing Lantern together in the fourth playground and talked about our values and dreams when we lied on the grass, saw the sky lightened by the 25th building’s lights and felt the peace of night.

The telephone is ringing. It must be Wen Jie urging me to be quick. I have to go. If you are interested in our various life, come and experience it. See you later!
