Having read the novel Gone with the Wind written by American writer Margaret Mitchell, I was deeply shocked. The novel, which Margaret spent about 10 years on, not only creates a myth, but also shows her own personal charm to the world. The novel's background is based on the Civil War which happened in the United States. According to the changes of the Civil War , the novel starts the circumstances, so it has divided the macro history into micro history of personal experience. We can realize that misty thinking of Margaret through character changes of people.
Taking the heroine Scarlet’s character changes as an example: “Through the pre-war, while-war and post-war periods, she shaped her character from ‘Pre-war's good living creating her pride, arrogance, vanity, and willfulness ’to ‘The suffering in the war forcing her to gain strength, courage, hard work, and self-renewal to ‘Cruel reality of the post-war leading her to be a greedy, stubborn, selfish, and mean person.’.”
I think maybe we could learn from Scarlet, for she will never retreat confronting difficulties. Everyday is a new day, and many difficulties are waiting for us. Those who succumb to the difficulties of life are weak. Don't be afraid of difficulties, and have the courage to face reality to solve problems, to be the master of destiny.
Never say die,never give up!
