A Trip To Find My Deficiency

On May 17th we had a trip to Korea and I found that English is important when you go abroad, but I also found that my Enlish is very poor now especially my oral English. HAHA, pratice make perfect maybe I need to read more and write more because I have forgot so many words. and when I communicate with other people I completely forget all the grammer my sentence just consist up by English words. what a shame

I don’t think we need focus too much on grammar when we talk in English. I even can’t remember if I have time thinking about grammar the time I speak in English.
Only when I write English, I will check grammar mistakes. As far as I know, a lot of English Native speakers know less grammar than we Chinese people.
Actually, I am still a bit frustrated as I have been learning very thick grammar books in China, but I still can’t use proper grammar when I am writing even don’t know when to use the past tense or present tense.

- Travelling to other countries is the best way to open our eyes and mind. You will know your English level when to travel and talk to others. However, if you can't communicate with people in other countries does not mean you are weak in English. You have to practice more to be able to listen and speak. If you can write (you wrote quite well), then you can speak well too. Just need practice.
As a British person, my main language is English, but I have never learnt any grammar formally. People are perplexed as to how I can write correctly without grammar knowledge, I have to say that I have a learnt how to read and write as a child without following formal rules and somehow, I can write write grammatically correct articles. I studied grammar much later when I had to take public exams when strict grammar rules had to be followed. As Sweetolive said, it is not necessary to give to much attention to grammar rules. You would write well if you read and write more.
Don't worry. You can write well, so you can speak well too.

I hope you have a good time in Korea. don't warry too much about english. for foreigners, they don't know much about the grammer. the grammer is just for chinese learners. if you make a mistake, They would't say any words about you mistakes. they are friendly and welcoming.the only thing they care is the confidence of speakers. so don't be shame. oral english should be practiced more.it is better to have a foreigner friend to chat often.

- English is the worldwide and international language. Whenever you are at, you do have the chance to find some ones who can speak English. If you can talk to them well, it definitely help you a lot when you are at a foreign land. Never too late to learn. Come on.
