I got an interview last Sunday, July 18th, 2010. I went to the Beijing IELTS school half an hour early at 4 o'clock and had to wait for the interviewer to come.
I grabbed a cup of water, sitting on the sofa in the hall. During the whole waiting process, I saw a middle aged guy surf on the Internet who I thought was the principal, the one was going to interview me afterwards.
The teaching was carried on smoothly, and the supervisor seemed to be a little bit content about my behaviour, but then, he enumerated a variety of my shortcomings. First, My teaching style was more likely to be fit for a college lecture or high school class, but not a training school, because I made good use of too many English terms and explainations, or in other words, it was not so aggressive in my class. Second, I never corrected the mistakes the students made immediately and had few interactions with students. And most important of all, I taught the lesson via PowerPoint, which was forbidden to use in the formal English classes in school.
So after inquiring the detail of my learing and working experience and expcctations, I was endowed with the answer, we don't have enough courses now, so please wait for our call, if there is any, we will phone you as soon as possible.
And so I was refused...
