My firend Lily said if housing price keeps crazy, she would rent a house instead of buying one. I was touched, it is not a bad idea! Hasn't Minister Wen once raised such suggestion?
Thinking it over, it might be a wise option. We spent a big fortune for a house, turned ourselves to slaves truggling our whole life for it. What we really got ? Is that house our real estate? The land joint to houses was state owned,we were just granted decades of property right. Moreover, from when the estate developer got the land tenur to when the house was sold to us, several years had already lost. Decades later, can you imagine what will happen to our houses when the property right expired? Does it mean we have spent for just a longtime renting?
An american young man irritated my colleague by saying his new house stupid. The amerian guy could hardly understand why we would buy a empty house and spend so much extra on decoration and furnitures. A chinese manager in our germany branch bought a big house, he said most of those bought a house in that community are Chinese. What was like of his germany colleague ? He rent a well equipped apartment close to the office, and spent much his leisure time and money travelling.
Renting a house for life? It sounds too trendy to our tradition. I am always dreaming of a villa with yard where I can plant vegetalbes and flowers and my child can ride bicyle around. If I can afford it, shall I just rent one?
