annual meeting

The administration department announced the arrangment ofannual meeting 2011 . There will be 3 sections: general conference, sports games, dinner. what is missing? Our favorite after-dinner party!
In the last 3 year, we had a party every year. Of course it was always the busiest time at the end of the year.But our enthusiasm for the party would not be affected.We take our spare time preparing the props and costumes and rehearsing the perfomance.When the party started, we found a group of different persons from their apperance in woking. Some showed amazing talents, someone just wanted to show, someone just acted as audience but undoutedly everyone enjoyed it.
But this year, they said the party was cancelled, taking the busy year end into consideration. Actually, this is the least busy year end we have ever had. we used to be busy to crazy, when orders began to decrease, we appreciated the less workload.but when it came to the fourth quarter, we really worried about this situation will remain for a long time and get worse and worse.
Everytime when a new extension list was sent to us, it meant much changes happened:someone was transferred or new members were joining in.But in the lastest one, I found many familiar names were missing, moreover, a departpment with all its members disappeared from it.What the next version of the list will be like ?
The boss must be the most annoyed person, how can he afford a big party for such a bad year!

- seems in our china's company, each company always holdsuch a meeting at the end of a year's work. in my bank, same to yours too. maybe this is the traditional form for so many years, maybe each company must hold such a meeting to say farewell to a past year and to start a new year's work, or maybe the leaders think to thank all clerks? hehe...

- my company has the similar celerbrating routines, though we combine dinner and party into one, called annual dinner. this year is no exception. Girls are recommended to dress formally to attend the party, so it's quite a scene. we were once required to dress formally, but after the company cancelled Dress budget, it became "recommend' now. dress formally or not, it always climaxed with Luck Draw. The first prize is aound 10000yuan---i never had such a luck
