japan, travel
A colleague of mine just travelled from Japan, which is a country she’s been usually frenzy about. Looking at the happy scene she was speechlessly talking with my colleague, I stepped into their conversation, just out of courtesy. I smiled and said: welcome back.
Without a word, the traveler colleague turned back and left directly to her office desk, leaving me and another colleague an atmosphere of being awkward and puzzled. Yet, within a minute, the traveler came back holding a box of snack, bought from Japan, spoke to me: have a taste.
So weird behavior. Then the conversation continued.
She talked about the friendly Japanese people, clean city, cheap and high quality commodities. Everything local is flawless. Compared with Chinese and South Korean people living in Japan, Japanese are more friendly, more polite and more pleasing. Most people who quarreled (in shops to sell), (traffic) law breached are either Chinese, or South Korean there.
Compared with national environment, Japan is extremely tidy clean. You can’t find tiny garbage on the street in Japan. Even small towns are in an orderly way. Traveled on a bus, she said the traffic in Tokyo or Kyoto is in an orderly way and went forward smoothly, with common phenomenon of traffic jam in Chinese metropolitans.
She bought a set of cosmetics, with a cost of one thousand RMB, and got another same set as a compliment gift. That is five hundred Yuan a suit. So cost-efficient makeup is scarce in China.
