i play chinese chess every evening

866 views. 2010-9-19 01:47 |

in the daytime i study in the classroom preparing for GRE. and get back at 10:00 in the evening.
it is impossible for me to continue study in my dorm, because the most of others are not going to take GRE and they play online games and make a lot of sounds. so i have to play something too. certainly i am not going to play online games because it may cause addiction.
at frist i may login qq or renren or dioenglish.com to submit some articles. because i do not like quotation, i write it originally. but as the life during preparation for GRE is becoming more and more changeless, i found always have nothing new to say.
so i turned my attention to reading some english materials online. but soon i found it is not very relax, because i have to check the meaning of new words. after a long day of study i did not want to study any further.
i changed again. this time i downloaded a Chinese Chess for PC. i tried it and found the AI was pretty good. at frist i could not even win the junior level. and i found the foe controlled by computer whose thinking was so profound: he could always make some moves seemed no meaning at fist sight, but later turned out to be a very smart one.
but as we played more and more, i gradually had some insight of him: he is very good at using a cannon placed above your general as a pin and then use a chariot or horse to destroy your elephants one by one. then even with two horses or a horse and a canon he can win. so you should pay your attention and never give him the chance to do this. and i also found a fatal weak point of his, that is, he is not very good at using soldiers. so my strategy for beating him is like this: first, change pieces with him and when we all remain less, he can not win me easily and then i sweep all his soldiers as quick as possible and move my soldiers across the river one by one. then i can beat him. this seems not a very swift way, but it works!
below is an example: i played the red side against the computer, the black side. and as you see it, i win.
