Having carried out the birth control policy in the past few decades.China has sucessfully condensed millions of its families from big ones into smaller ones.The typical pattern of one child per family plays an increasingly important role in many cities nationwide, which has a strong impact on our contemporary society with both positive and negative effects.

     The positive effects are actually self-evident.As a result of one child per family, China will face less pressure of population,the insufficiency of cultivated land and the energy crisis.Meanwhile,it serves as an effective solution to the narrow entrance to the universities,the crowded job market as well as the potential pollution and damage to the environment.

     However,on the contrary,some inevitably negative effects have revealed themselves gradually,bringing more and more worries and concerns to us. For one thing,the only child tends to be spoiled and self-centered,who becomes less independent and has more difficulties in getting well with others and smoothly integrating into the society.For another,owing to one child per family,many children without siblings together with the senior parents whose only child leaves them to work or start a new family have a sense of loneliness generally. Moreover,the long-term impacts of one child per family will bring the society with a large aging population ,making the society less energetic and creative with a heavy burden.

     In a word,we have to treat this phenomenon objectively and strike a good balance in order to avoid our society going to another extreme.
