After Watching the Expendables

Finally, I watched the Expendables today. Honestly, the reason why I payed so much attention to this movie is just because the actors: Stallone, Statham, Li. All of them are my favorite guys. I growed up with their works. There must be number an audience agreed with me. No one could deny their great performance in the movie, however, here what I am going to say is not about them, but a surpport, Gunner.

It may be hard for some of you to recall this character. He was kicked out of the team at the beginning, because of his uncontrolling behavior. At that time, I believe Stallone expresses one of his point:

“ the violence is just a way to success, and a human should never lost himself in the violence.”

As the story goes, Gunner “betrayed” the team. He joined the bad side for proving himself. Because the leader shows no trust on him. He tried his best, even tried to kill them. Of course, it is a happy ending at last. The leader almost killed Gunner, but Gunner survived. And they get together eventually. Between them, I see the beauty of violence. They have to beat each other for their own purpose, but they always leave a way for each other to mend, because they are still friends. Through violence, Gunner was saved, not only his life, but his soul as well. So here another point about violence:

 “it is not always negative, it helps people also, only it is used correctly.”

By the way, the resistant of the Vilena people reminds me our own history, especially the period of Anti-Japanese War. Both the Vilena people and us seems weak in front of our enemies. However, we still chose to beat back. I believe that’s the patriotism. No matter what you are facing, this emotion will drive you to protect your home, your people, your country.  

There are many moving spots in the movie. It’s impossible to list them all. But in this so called action movie, I feel the power of faith. With faith, everyone could be a kind man, even you are killing.
