Hanging Around in Chengdu

613 views. 2010-9-15 12:23 |

Through my four years college life, the most unforgetable thing was to hang around in Chengdu. Every weekend, my friend and I went out to feel those old buildings. And in my beautiful memories, the Kuanzhai Lane is gleaming.

Still remembering the feeling when I first heard about it. One of my college teachers told us that you must go to the lane once in your college life, or just you go to Beijing without going to the Great Wall. I admired her very much. Since she recommended so much, I felt very curious about that place. Right that Saturday, I went there.

It is hard to describe my feeling when I saw the lane. The first thing into your eyes was a huge old city gate. All made of stones, so magnificent. After walking into the lane, the road was made of bluestones. You just like walked into Qing Dynasty. Beside the lane, some houses are rented for business, however, there are many houses still having people living in. If you are lucky enough, you could have a peek through the opening gates, to look their peaceful and unpolluted life.

Another surprise on the same day, I found there a bus in Chengdu, which main part are made of wood. It is only half of the normal buses. And the seats, the floor in the bus are all made of wood. I treat that as a miracle in this iron and steal forest.

So if you came to Chengdu, you may not go to the Chunxi Road, but you must go to the Kuanzhai Lane and take the wood bus.

ps: one line of the wood bus is No. 163
