Several foreign students were welcomed to join us in our regular English Corner.Everyone of us got excited since none had ever won a chance to chat with some foreign person. So they were asked a question after a question.Where you from? How do you like to be here? How about your hometown? .......Sometimes personal hobbies were mentioned such as 'which club do you like','you like
football or basketball' and something like that.
Until when we talked about some difficulties did I lood them with new eyes."Your Chinese is so good for your one month staying in China. You are so talented. I wish I had a good oral english like you." "Did you have some problems in your Chinese homework? Because we all konw that Chinese can be very hard to learn".
Honest to say,the response of them shocked me."You can make it as long as you work hard.""You can do it. I can do it too.""They can make it,why can not I? We are the same".
So that is it. I will not count or caculate the number of us who always lean to say "I can't do it"to themselves.Even the people from the third world have realized that one can do anything with great efforts and that impossible is nothing when confronted with a hardworking man.How about us?
The way we think need to change.
