Happy Moments

428 views. 2010-11-29 22:51 |

When it comes to our happy moments, many of us may think childhood is the best memory of our life. So do I. Indeed they are unforgettable experiences in our lifetime.

I live in the countryside, with many hills, pine trees, farmlands surrounded. In front of a gate were a small pond and an age-old well which was popular with villagers before even though it was shallow. Nearby the well was the pond where there were a school of fishes. Besides, a bunch of reeds gathered together in water. They often bowed in waves. Once upon a time, groups of my peers went there to fish from time to time. What a lovely thing! About 100 meters away from the pond, there located in a river where we usually skimmed. In summer, my buddies always asked me to swim. But my parents didn’t permit us to do that, I followed their advice in case they worried us. Yet I did it some times, though. What impressed me most is my naughty brother who always went swimming without my parents’ permission. Therefore he came back at night in case of blames at the cost of not having supper. It was much too teasing, wasn’t it? Actually, I wish I were a little bit rebellious against my parents at that time, just play with my buddies happily. Another interesting thing was that we went to small mountains pasturing cattle. Usually we took a herd of cows to a plain, leaving them alone. And we began to have fun with my fellows, such as playing hide and seek, catching frogs to roast(it’s illegal at present)climbing trees, playing cards, etc. how blissful!

Apart from these memories, sometimes I assisted my mum to take care of vegetables and plants in the garden. But I just watered or picked them, not digging the soil. I also liked skipping very much. I often did this with my friends after class in primary school. Pitifully, however, I don’t have any photos of that happy moments.

Every time I think of them, I will chuckle, and nobody know why I laugh. But now it’s just the other way around. Times have changed, and we have grown up, the original lifestyle has faded away. Therefore, we have no reason not to preserve these happy memories in our hearts. Cherish the precious gifts, and we would get warmth from them when we are down.

Yeah. It's true that as a grown-up now, we often think of the good old days, especially our childhood. Time seemed to be slow and smooth at that period. But in most cases, we even did not know how to cherish happiness and then we rushed through life, got lost and now we are adults... Nothing can buy our youth back; nothing can be exchanged for a young mind. What we can do now is relish the present.

By the way, I'm afraid you need to pay some attention to the grammar. For instance, it should be "So DO I." as you used the verb "think" in the previous sentence. And there are some mistakes about Subject-Verb Agreement, tenses... I'm not coming for correcting, but I'm sure that you can do better in writing. : )
