What Have I Lived For?

491 views. 2011-6-20 10:50

Once Russell said: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and the unbearable pity for the sufferin of mankind are his three passions of his life. So what's my passion? What do I live for?

Well, it is a profound question. But out of question, it is worth consideration, isn't it? For me, the search for knowledge has already been on my list. Then comes to love. So far, haven't found my prince charming. I believe he is on his way to encounter with me, though. An it is commonly believed that  love can bring us ecstasy and relieve lonliness. Here comes another question: love is only too satisfying to pursue it, but unfortunately the happy moments cannot last long. Many couples have to suffer from departure. I don't know why, cause perhaps I am still in "candy age". The unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind? Maybe I am too young to understand it quite well. Kind of sympathy for people in need. Sometimes I do give baggers charity. Is that enough? Or how much can I do for them? Chances are that I will have more insights toward the question years later. To be sure, I would seek the answer from some books at the same time. An idea that I could go to the remote areas as a volunteer to help those poor kids has ever come out from my mind. It is one of my dreams. Any other passions?

How to colorize our limited college time? The CEO of New Oriental Yu Minhong warned college students: the search for knowledge, the pursuit for friendship and love, and preparation for our future job.  Good summary! I shall cherish what I have owned. Anyway, it's our actions that speak louder than words. Just strive for what you have already decided to do. Don't wait.

Hi, feeling wonderful after having covered your whole article. As far as I'm concerned, some are actually wondering what they're living for in their lives. You know there are innumberable things to pursue, um, however, what shall we do is only to figure out the most important and meaningful stuffs, such as what you've mentioned above all. As a matter of fact, every moment in life matters, living in tne moment shuld be much better. Anyway it depends how you define it. All right, finally wish you a beautiful life.

we do need to stop for a while from time to time to think: what do we live for? there're many levels, of course. and the answers or purposes vary. however, one thing is certain: to make our life meaningful. in one word, to make our life easier and happier. as you said, what we need is action to realize our dreams.
