Reading

It is said that Australia is an extremely civilized country. In this summer vacation, Miss Zou had a pleasant trip there with her oversea students. What impressed her mostly is that when she was taking a train ride, a fact that the majority of passengers were reading books on the train, merely a few people talking in a low voice truly shocked her.

“How could that be?” she said in our class. What a peaceful picture it is! What a civilized society it is! Only there can we appreciate the art of life. Never had I seen such a wonderful picture in China. And I am wondering whether in our country this dream could come true one day. In this earthly society, an increasing number of people tend not to read books, even if they are students, but choose to pursue more material staffs. Yes, admittedly, some of them are occupied by heave work all day long. But it is not denying that a certain number of people are wasting money and time, to squander their youth---the beautiful period of one’s lifetime. As the development of Internet, quite a few people begin to surf Internet for study, for entertainment, for making friends, etc. The time on reading is getting less and less.

For my part, not only would reading help us broaden our horizons, but shape our inner minds step by step. Besides, book might be of service to find out our real hobby and more interests in life. Anyway, if we could get into this habit, for sure it is beneficial to our life.

I convince you would discover a wonderland in reading. Have fun!
