A Little Blue

345 views. 2010-11-4 19:09

Today, I am a little blue.

One thing happened so that it changed my joyous mood. To be frank, it is a good thing for me, but I cannot lift my spirits.

This afternoon, one former colleague who I got acquaintance with him when I worked in his company as a part-time translator told me some valuable things. He told me that his majordomo told him that some of my translation is prone to Chinglish. I knew he was kind to tell me this fact and sometimes in my work, I have realized this problem. As the low requirements of my current company, I ignore it all the time. The moment he told me this fact, I knew I must take some actions to overcome this difficulty because I knew it is a fatal failure for translators. If I cannot solve this problem, it is impossible to make a great progress in translation. However, as for this problem, I do not know where I should begin with. Of course, he told me that I should look through some international websites to grasp some standard expressions. It is really a tough task, isn’t it?

There are so many things needed learning. I intensively felt time is limited. Whether am I so impatient? I really need to reconsider it again and figure out some solutions.

Anyhow, from where I stand, I need to pick myself up. Thus, I have the emotion and confidence to adjust my English learning and practice.

At last, I would like to say people must communicate with those connoisseurs more and get some practical and valuable suggestions and experience. Never be satisfied with your current comfortable life! Never hang on one place without moving forward. Or you will be eliminated by this society.

It is really a high time to draft my study plan which needs no big talk, just some practical and effective actions. Good luck!

of course, i am happy that someone could tell me my weakness to help me improve myself. on the other hand, i am only worried about how to improve my weakeness. i have no intention to scold at somebody who told me the fact. And thank you for your encouragement. i will try my best to improve myself and i will never give it up because to be a professional translator is my dream. i will strive for it all the time! thank you~
