The Winter Solstice

Today is the winter solstice,which is one of the 24 solar terms.
That is to say ,the daytime of this day is shortest in whole year ,and the night is longest .Besides, form now on ,the sun will close to the earth day by day. And in theory,The weather will be warmer and warmer.
Traditionally, we eat dumplings in the winter solstice. I like dumplings ,for I like the atmosphere of eating with family members. But the canteen of school make me disappointed.
