Of music

Some people say music is universal, which means you can understand it no matter what language you speak. I personally experienced this wonderful feeling with a Japanese song, though I don't know a word of Japanese, I fell in love with it the second I heard it at the opening ceremony of Shanghai World Expo. It was a little bit sad, yet underneath you can feel something unyielding, It sounded like a man was talking to you about his hard life and his strong determination to achieve his goal. I was so deeply moved that I listened to that song again and again. I believe for some songs we can just use it as background music, for some others we need to sit back and enjoy it wholeheartedly, and for some rare particular ones we need to kneel down with full admiration. The following is my understanding of the song called "stars" by a Japanese singer Kuchunxingci:

 The mood of the song:

I’m on my way back home, walking alone on the lonely road. The fields are dry and empty. It’s cold and the wind is blowing hard, only the stars in the sky shining brightly, leading the way to my hometown.

It’s quite a few years since I left home. Life has been hard for me, but the dream is still in my heart. With the stars leading my way, I’m determined to march forward bravely for the dream in my heart, no matter what difficulties might come my way.
