Since childhood, we have heard people compare teachers to gardeners. In our mind the image of a gardener is that he/she is always busy weeding or trimming.  What is great in gardeners is that they make the world more pleasant more beautiful to live in without asking any return. They do it , it seems at least, willingly and quietly. Therefore they might win some respect from the people who walk in the garden enjoying the nice environment. 

 In most cases teachers are compared to candles. What do they have in common? A candle gives light to others while burning itself until none is left. So teachers have to contribute or work without complaining a bit until their hair turns grey, or more exactly, until their lives are exhausted to the last drop.of oil!

I don't know how other people feel about this, but for me i've never been able to cheer up or be inspired or whatever. On the contrary, i feel a little bit sad and sorry.  Is that the only way teachers are supposed to behave or spend their life? I definitely doubt it! Can we both contrbute and at the same time benefit ourselves in a certain manner? Don't be fooled by the common belief or rather propaganda we received! Be yourself and live your own dignified life!Yes, we must bear the due responsibility. However, shouldn't  we have a rich colorful life that we deserve as anybody else?
