Reunion After Thirty Years
Yesterday we had a classmate reunion. It was unusual because it was held thirty years after graduation. Before leaving, I looked at the name list again and again, trying to get back the then faces and figures, and imagining what they might look like after thirty years’ time. When we actually met in a hotel, I found that more than half I could still recognize, which was beyond my expectation. However, I still held the name list while saying hello and shaking hands; some of them had changed so much that you just could not connect him/her to the ones that are in our mind.
It was not easy to have this gathering, so I want to thank the organizers for their hard work and wonderful arrangements. There were 50 students in our class, but 10 were unable to come for various reasons and 2, a male student and a female student, were just nowhere to be found or contact. Thirsty years, how many thirty years we have in our whole life? The young images we had when we were students are gone forever, and only exist in our mind. We all look old, most of us having gray hairs, some with a bald head, some wrinkles on our faces.
Four teachers including head teacher were also invited. We began our party just as we did at the beginning of a class when we were students. One by one we introduced ourselves and briefly told about the life and work in the past thirty years. Our head teacher reminded us that it was time to pay attention to our health, which caused a lot of echoes. We once tried, succeeded, and also failed. We might have achieved a lot, or we might remain an ordinary person. However, there’s one thing in common: we have all contributed to our society and together we are just fellow students, no matter what position we are in.
No one can stop the wheel of time and one’s ageing is just unavoidable. However, we can keep a young heart, a forever young heart. Life can be a struggle but basically a process of enjoying whatever life can offer us. In this sense, one’s attitudes are crucial. Life needs relaxation and we just can’t always be in a tense state. Therefore, we should also learn not to take things too seriously. Perhaps that is an important part of the art of life.

- The word people at my age frequently say is "classmate", after we went through primary school, middle school, college life, so many classmates. Heihei. And I will have more classmates soon. Can't imagine what we will be many years later. yeah, have an optimistic attitude, move on!

- 30 years's reunion? what a long time gap! difficult to imagine whether our lifetime is long or short on earth? because seems on one side so clear memory whenever time lasted for and so close thoughts after one or few 30 years, but another side so aloof feeling with each other even few years later to each other in modern social life inclding classmates whether you admit or not.
how many real close good relationship stay between each other?some odd feeling in reunion,not my say, many people's truth.
in fact, whether reunion or not , close friend are still there no matter how many 30 years passed. more new close friends maybe form whether how many years will be. time is not abstable to real friends at all,reunion is not way to save or recall cool friendship actually.

- snowflying: aha, rich, you begin to like something such as recall, several blogs continuing here. friendship is an odd feeling sometimes not only beautiful.it is said that if you begin to recall the past, it is a sign that you're getting old. so i may be one of those guys. hehe. to tell the truth, i never realized that i have taught for so long. being with kids makes me have a false feeling that i'm still young. anyway, ageing is a natural process. the key is to keep a young heart. hope you stay young for ever. 20 this year, and 18 next year, as is often said. :-)

- Classmate used to be a word of high frequency in our life, as we studied together, had fun together, and grew up together. However, those familiar faces began to recede from our life as we graduated from school, started to work and set up our own family. It is very nice and happy to stay together again after so many years. For me, it is just as a way station for us all to stop a while, to look back and ponder on our life. Rich, you are really rich, for those beautiful things you have owned like families, friendship, health and career!

yes i'm basically content with my life. i don't know if i'm an easily contented person. if there's something not so satisfactory, i'm not as physically strong as i wish to be. hope things will change for the better. hehe.

At the end of June I received an operation on my eye to cure a disease plaguing me for years, which forbade me from TV and computer for one month and an half. At first, I had thought it would kill me living without internet. The truth remains that I survived and lived a happy life, because I had more time to stay with my families and friends.
Just hope you things getting better!
