Have you ever had any teeth Planted?

550 views. 2012-5-29 19:44

As I get old, some of my teeth decided to retire after serving me for several decades. However, it seems a little too early for them to go, especially the molars and premolars. Of course, it is I that should take the blame, for I couldn’t be bothered to brush the teeth properly early on. Without them, it is really hard to chew the food when having meals. And the stomach also has to suffer. But it is too late to realize how important these little teeth are, though looking so humble and insignificant.

However, life has to go on. Usually I have to eat very slowly. The funny thing is that you seem to speak with different sounds. It’s not only a question of one’s health but also of one’s image and confidence. Food falls into the empty “valleys” and air escapes when you speak. I went to the local dental clinics and tried to “repair” them. The common practice is to add a false tooth by making a bridge. The problem is the two neighboring teeth which were fully covered by the bridge decayed a few years later. I’m aware that the damage is done and I’ll never be able to restore the original state. But I still need to eat to live. And the remaining teeth can no longer afford any further damage. Facing such a situation, I thought of having teeth planted, though it is unusually expensive.

All the public hospitals don’t have this service. The private dental clinics charge a fortune. But they boast they use imported techniques and materials. Above all, they say, it is a no-pain process and only takes less than an hour! After consulting with friends, I finally made a big decision to have two teeth planted at one of the big “valleys”. Can you guess the cost? For one tooth, I had to pay 6500 RMB for the Korean screw and 1800RMB for the top part, excluding various other charges. And it is the cheapest of all the choices.

The planting process didn’t take long, as they said. But it was really a little scary. Imagine the drilling sounds when the dentist made the holes into your bone. No-pain actually means it is bearable. For me I couldn’t go to sleep while trying to have a nap that day. There was a dull pain, not only the affected area but the whole head, especially the eye socket. I couldn’t help but rub my eyes to reduce the ache around them. Currently I just got two screws planted and have to wait for three months for further planting. I’m wondering if any of you guys have done this before. Anyway, just wish me luck, my friends!

Once I had one of my teeth pulled out . There was some flesh and  blood pulled with the pulled tooth ,too .It cost me 300 yuan . I didn't know it would cost so much to have a tooth planted until you told me . What will my life be like when I am getting old ? Maybe I will have to do everything more slowly . I can understand your description about your tooth easily , but there will be a long way for me to go to be able to express as well as you in English . You are really great . Hope your other teeth will stand long .

thanks my friend! i'm just at the beginning so i'm not sure if these two teeth will be a success. however, according to my friends, the planting techniques are kind of mature. it seems to be almost perfect to have new teeth this way. the biggest advantage is it will not damage the neighboring teeth. and very stable and strong being deeply planted into the bones.

I pulled out two teeth 4 years ago.I still remember that day a destint pulled my molars with a hammer. It is so painful that i  catch the nurse's arm tightly. Though i still have two morals now and they could make me pain sometimes, i could not go to see a dentist anymore, well ,i am fearful at the though of the destint'hammer.  well,my dear friend,if you have a toothache,if you plan to see a destint, good luck for you!

i think i know how you feel, for i experienced exactly the same before. just as  the saying goes, toothache is not sickness, but you'll pain to death once you have it. especially scary at the thought of the drilling and the hitting of a hammer. i think planting a new one could be a solution. at least it will not affect other teeth. Let's just wait and see. :-)

things always go like this: when we have it, we don't realize its value. however, once it's gone and we suddenly come to the realization, it's too late. unfortunately i was one of them. hehe. the only rational way is to live with it and try to make the best of it if possible.
