Have missed another star shower

525 views. 2009-5-6 13:58 |Individual Classification:Earth_Family|

2:50 on May 6 at dawn, yes, it's today, Aquarius Meteor Shower,I missed again.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
According to the Hong Kong Obseervatory astronomy experts,
Aquarius, this year's meteor shower in the heyday Center at 7:00 on the 6th around 1 hours in the day near the top of the maximum number of meteors is expected to be about 30-50 meteors.
The parent comet of Aquarius meteor shower is Halley Comet whose average running cycle is 76.01years.
The last time Halley Comet had recently occurred in 1986(I was not born), the next will appear in 2061(I should haven't been killed, so there is yet hope if I cling to the belief).
At present, the splendoer across the night sky people can see is Halley Comet over the recent past,
when the spraying ice particles out of the dust,as a result of radiation in the constellation Aquarius, so you got its name.
If you choose an open space, with a open vision, clean atmosphere, sparse popualtion, dim light, you can enjoy the splendor with your naked eyes.

"Good timing, favorable climatic, geographical and human conditions":
At that time,I was standing on the balcony and I lived in the top floor, with my dearest Eagle.
Hangzhou, the weather cannot be too good enough in these days.
The most of all, my eye-sight is perfect.I have a twenty-twenty vision that I can read the last line on the eye test charts
"Nope." What I saw was just a few stars with teeny light...
I felt disappointed and wonder that why I didn't see many stars at summer nights in Hangzhou's sky.
Everytime, I have a passion to enjoy moon or stars, but I couldn't satisfy my this little wish.
The common scene I saw was always a few stars, twinkling faintly in the night sky,
scattered as querulous and plaintive notes, because they are too lonely.
I guess they must miss their big-eye friends who lives in the countryside so much.
Otherwise why did they stay in low spirits and their eyes were blurry?

The last one was Leo I was sleeplessness two nights for it's the first and untill now the only time
I saw so many meteors just like racing in the sky and I had no time to promise.
It happened in long long long long ago, when I was a child who in a high school:)
I think maybe the last time I was too greedy so I couldn't meet them again...
Actually,it would make more sense that those willings are too many to realize in such a short time,
So,my little girl, please don't be so hurry, just take it easy.Make a wish is easy but you should carry it out:)
Next time,if it is possible,I promise I will make my wishes(pl.:P) in English.

Experts remind that the meteor meteor shower Aquarius more light and fast.
Maybe they are too fast to make me see them.Pictures show...not the outdoor scene.

I took the "awesome" as "terrible" at the first sight.
:)Thanks a lot, and you're so diligent:) that you'll carry out your wishes.

Patience is the best way to watch a meteor shower! I'm lucky enough that my home is in the countryside, so there's no 'light pollution' from the cities to spoil your view, which makes it much easier to spot falling meteors. Last time I went home I saw a meteor shower - I think the hardest thing is seeing the first one! Once you see one meteor, you can see lots more. I think we'd call it your eyes 'tuning in' to the shower!

In present time, for the air pollution, we can't see many star now, especially in the city, though the chance is very small, we still hope we can watch a meteor shower in our lifetime.

Completely true! The air quality is better in cities here in the UK as there is not so much industry. However, the stars did come out a couple of times when I was in Beijing, and when they did they were beautiful!
