Do you like horses? Have you ever ridden a horse? I hardly see a horse in my life. Whenever I sew a horse on TV, I would dream to ride a horse running on the grassland in a sunny day. How exciting! But until now I have never ridden a horse, so all I can do is daydreaming. Today I want to talk about some idioms about horse.

Before I talk about the horse, I have to say something about my friend Tom. So please hold your horses, let me tell you a story about Tom.

In my memory, Tom is honest and candid. He is ready to help anyone who is in trouble. He comes from a one-horse town.

His hometown used to be very poor, but now with the development of society, people’s life is better and better. Though people are richer and richer, they still look back to the horse-and-buggy days as a better time than now.

They used to lead a quiet life, they enjoyed their privacy. But now the situation of the small town is a horse of a different color. The streets are busier and busier since more and more tourists are going sightseeing there.

Tom used to be a frugal guy and wear common clothes. But he changed completely after he went to college.  We all think he is a real clothes horse. Some girls are fascinated by his fashion clothes and handsome face. But even more than that, he does well in his lessons.

It’s a little difficult not to envy and admire him. These days he is on his high horse because he got the first prize in the English speech contest last week.
