Most English learners want to practise, speak out or do exercises to see and show how much they have mastered well in learning. Therefore, topics are such nice choices to start with.

Here comes the question. Most guys do not know how to start and what they should speak, write and communicate. It is easy to understand, since we are not native speakers, thus we feel not so comfortable to say in that way. And what is more, everything is hard in the first beginning. Even before trying speaking out, everything is well organised, there could be also an awkward moment happen when the brain becomes messy at the time the learner wants to say something. He or she, feels bad, bacause suddenly the brain forgets everything on account of a nervous feeling caused by being afraid of making mistakes and a little bit shortage of confidence. Then, you imagine that scene in mind what else is might going to happen. The last, it is an unforgettable experielence in life.

Then we should know how to tackle with it?

Probably we all know confidence is important and exercises we need. Therefore, how to take that? Everyone differs from anybody else does in the world. While something can be universal and common.

First, do not feel bad when you do not know something yet. We are not an encyclopaedia, and not obligated to know everything. When you are asked something that you do not know, it is normal, nothing else should make you embarrassed. You just directly say that you do not know. It is a sure thing if you are seasoned and rich in many fields of knowledge, which scores you better in performance and impresses people around you. While it is not a must, what you can do is to perfect it.

Second, to be warm and kind to life. What we live and what we meet everyday are those things making up our surroundings. What we go through are basic elements that we can discuss and share to people. To be honest, it does not lack of conversations, it lies in whether we really look into what we have. Simply, we can talk weather as the British way. And we can discuss feeling of current situation, including, the price of itmes sold in supermarkets, the cost of the latest lunch of an iphone, etc. After that, a deeper communication of why CPI (Consumer Price Index) changes, why and how an iphone could be hitting at such a high price? Blah, blah, blah.

Besides, talk about hobbies and life experience. Things you like and some stories you have met. Those could make you and people get more closer. And then there is no umcomfortable feeling facing them, as if you were good friends talking very highly who have parted for a long time.

Third, to see what people usually talk. This is also a need to know what kind of things that people are likely to say. Meanwhile, different aged people have different types of views of their perspectives. To be ready of that, then you can freely tackle with them and feel no problem to talk. Well parepared words pour out and people feel you are so voluble, then you find it is cool and honourable that you have done what your deserved about the pay on the study.

The last but not the least. Keep studying everyday. The Memory Curve tells us that we are easily going to forget what we remember in a short time, and as time elapses, we can still remember those things well as long they impressed us a lot in the mind, and then we are hardly to forget if we notice and review on them again.

Thus, topics can be anything we are involved in life. And doing topics with people, there needs preparation.

Finally, appreciate that you pay the patience to my long length blah. Tomorrow is to start the first working day for most guys, and there do be some news you can talk of.  May good things work out for you.

Some Chinese students told me that they organize their talk in Chinese then translate it to English before speaking it out. They feel this is the reason why they cannot speak fluently. Actually, that is not the reason for them weak in spoken English. The reason is because of lack of practice opportunities. When a person practice more, the brain automatically adjust and soon that person would be able to speak fluently.

Writing is similar, but in writing, it is more formal and you have to learn how to use suitable works and organize your writing for easy understanding by the readers.

As a British native speaker, I just speak out whatever is on my mind because I have been using English since birth. However, I still need to think which are the suitable words to use in speaking and writing. Practice more and someday you gonna speak and write like a native speaker.

Yes, to use, speak and think in the native way needs exercises, and usually domestic students do not have such a chance to talk with English speakers.

I kept doing exercises by myself when I was at school though there were few chances to communicate with foreigners. I had to practice reciting some good articles and recorded  my messages via microphone and later to check in comparison with the original messages.

Everyday I spent time doing listening exercises to enhance listening ability. Also I started to write at an earlier time in the morning when my roommates were still in their dreams. And I seized some chances to the English corner speaking with some native teachers.

I often recall that period of time when I was on campus, I found what I have done is deserved, and now I still keep learning. Then I find it is ok to talk and negotiate some of my foreign clients.

Though I did not major English, I feel that I can talk, and do business with foreigners in English without getting hard to understand them. That is already enough for me.

Excellent advice!  We learn by doing.  I like to say, "I learn like a child.  If a two-year old can learn Chinese, so can I."
My friends tell me, "You can't teach yourself Chinese.  It is too hard."
I say, "If a two-year-old can do it, so can I!"

If some one really wanna talk, he can find topics, but there is a condition, that is , if he really ready to say something, he dare to say something. I have ever remember my first native English oral teacher told me:"Kevin, just say something, I am just behind you." Now I cultivate a habits that, if I come  up with an idea, I just do it, without thinking too much; when I ask somebody to do something, I will do before him or she.  I often wonder why foreign friends  can learn Chinese so quickly,  why when we learn English so slow,  I guess that the difference is just attitude. Dare to do something, but not bold, is the key point to everything.

Yes, dare to speak out and always try to find chances to communicate and improve. If the one wants to do that, he or she always can have chances to get upgraded.
