Stop calling me

Almost everyday, especially on working days, I have calls from people who claim they are agents who recommend me something about if I am interested in investment on stocks, precious metal trade, store renting, insurance policies for sales both in life and property, and so forth.
At the first beginning, I answered those calls out of curiosity and politeness, because I wanted to know how come I have such calls that I had never met them, by the way, I had to be patient in that case the call might be from one of my clients or a long time no contact friend who just changed the phone number. Later, it proves most of those calls, say, 99% of those are from unknown people who called for the purpose of marketing. And then I gradually lose my patience listening to their introduction. From then on, after confirming the call of that kind,I simply hang off by replying THANK YOU.
With the prevalence of smart phone, now we can easily tell those unknon calls if they are about to be for sales or what. Then I just do not choose to answer them by hanging off directly without a second thought. This really helps me out a lot to save time answering them. Many apps for phone book are well designed to detect whether a phone call is from someone for advertising. And the user can also mark those advertising numbers on black list.
IT technology brings us convenience, meanwhile bothers us somehow. Our personal data are kept and saved in services and easily to be manipulated for commercial use, genereally, they are not under the law to be permitted doing so, or to be more specific, the related laws and regulations are not well set up to guide the market at present.

- Well, those calls are less harmful compared to the calls we receive here. The calls we receive would tell us that an important postal document has arrived but it contained fake ID documents. We will hand it over to the police if you don't collect it. Call back this number 1234...... When you check the number it is the same as a police station (but faked). When you call back, they say they are the police and suggest you pay a small sum of money to settle the problem. All these are scams to cheat people, bot not really police. A lot of people have been cheated and paid. I don't want to get involved with these people, so I just tell them don't call again or I report them.
As for the advertising marketing calls, the way I handle them is to counter sell to them. I tell them I have a great product and if you join membership, you can make money fast. The membership fee is Rmb 1000. Sometimes can find out how they got my contact phone number. Keep selling back to them until they are tired.
The cellphone is a great equipment for contacts and information but in everything, there good and bad sides. Gain some, loose some so we have to eat the whole cake.
