Tu Youyou and Nobel prize

News about Tu Youyou who nominated to win the nobel prize about her study on medical contribution dominates many sites' main page. She trained in traditional Chinese medicine, finding artemisinin which is used to cure the disease of malaria. She made the key contribution to discover diethyl ether ( an organic solvent) to extract artemisinin from a plant called sweet wormwood. After testing in many trials, she acquired the method to obtain artemisinin to help people who suffer from malaria. Every year about 200 million people suffer from malaria, about half million die each year.
First, I feel proud of her outstanding achievement. She is the first Chinese female to win Nobel prize and the second one about to own such a prize (The first person is Mo Yan who is the writer who won the prize of literature in 2012). It is another view to demonstrate Chinese are also have the ability to discover and create something significant to mankinds. Our country is now becoming more competive and attractive overall in its development. Later, soon, I believe there will be more scientists and researchers are to be nominated to have nobel prize.
Second, her story again teaches us about one's growth and contribution really pays a long time with constant hard work to fulfill something meaningful. Most of us really want to be something in some fields or gain some other greatness while are easily going to be restless and dispirited once we failed to find nothing improved temporarily. Technically, most of us are just ordinary people, nobel prize is far away from us, even do not need to think of that too much. Actually, we learn from that we can try to keep the goal we are dreaming of. It could be a succeful advernture, a promotion where we have been working at the position for years, and so forth.
Civilization evolves as we stay volitive pursuit of knowledge unswervingly.

- Nothing is more honorable than inventing medicine that cures life threatening diseases. Tu youyou invented medicine to cure malaria and accordingly saves thousands of lives. This is the result of determined long term research with limited resources. Glad to see her efforts recognized by the Nobel award.
