Quarrel at the corner

Hot 1742 views. 2015-11-9 20:21 | waiting, traffic, patience

When I was waiting for the traffic light behind the line, I saw two men just at the corner on my side were quarrelling. There was a taxi pulled over nearby. A man, who stood at the left side of another man who sat on his battery powered bicycle, said loudly" How come I hit you and how badly you are injured?." Another men on the bicycle was quite ok, and spoke a lot, showed that he must be tackled somehow, while I saw nothing wrong all over him. Though there was a policeman in charge of traffic, he did not intervene in them too much. After a while, the standing man just grabbed a note of 100 RMB from his pocket passing to another men who headed up looking at him. Then the standing man went back to the taxi, drove away. Another men rode away too, after receiving the note. The scene lasted in no more than thirty seconds.

We often see a such quarrel and some of my friends tell me they are really afraid of those guys who ride battery operated bicycles suddenly coming out the way. It is really hard to brake and many cases of collision happen like this. People lead the fast life style, are more likely to follow the Chinese characteristic style. One of them is the traffic problem, including crossing the road with groups of people whatever it is the red light or not, and with the poor conception of passing the road by bike if it is time to wait for the light, meanwhile some of drivers also hurry to the last second before the red light turning on.

Patience is precious.

Everywhere in the world, when there is an road accident and no serious injuries, police would not get intervene and leave it to the disputing parties to sort it out among themselves. Quite often these minor accidents can escalate into heated arguments or fights when they cannot agree on an acceptable compensation. Whenever, there is an accident, there most be one side who is wrong, so they would have to conclude whose fault it was.

As for pedestrians crossing roads in my city, they seem to ignore the traffic lights, but  when there is a policeman standing by, the would obediently wait till for the green light to cross. There have many accidents, particularly near speedy highways, when pedestrians have been injured of killed. A single mistake could be a lifetime regret. Don't take unnecessary risks.

Yes, so I learn to follow the traffic rules and do not take risks. Though at some time I also want to take the shortcut by just crossing the road if there is no cars, finally I persuade myself not to break the rule.
