Less than a month, the pace of Spring Festival is coming.
Technically, it is more to stand for the symbolism of spring. Particularly, in the old ancient time, all of days were well scheduled according to the lunar calendar by the invention of 24 solar terms.
The Festival then dominates the first lunar month as a whole for peasants to rest well. At one time, nothing could be done but staying home in the cold winter. Gathering together, having a drink, paying the new year’s visit to relatives and friends, all is to be done at that very period.
Nowadays, the high technology contributes to farm and cultivate plants in greenhouse. People are now easily going around seeking for jobs without worrying too much on the shortage of food supply. What the most concerning is money making. Inflation and living cost draw back the quality of happiness.
Ironically and absurdly, reconstruction and rebuilding are displaying on the showcase, restriction of population leads to another round of crisis. Though the second child policy has already carried out, people are still under its influence. Victims, the ordinary, are the most innocent to pay for the bill.
The new definition of lunar year of spring festival is the warmth of reunion. And for most ones have already changed the traditional concept by not choosing to stay home. Usually a visit to somewhere else would be interesting and relaxed.
A seven-day holiday is more likely to recall the time being getting together other than settle for further old convention being celebrating festive joy.
Back to where it just started.
Obviously, streets are becoming idle. Every year during this period, migrant workers gradually go back hometown. Owners of those shops, groceries and small wet markets, have doors shut down. It could be even very hard to find a barber shop for haircut.
Occasionally, fewer and fewer people are to be found on streets at rush hours. Roads cleared up to be emptier. Only in coach and train stations, people flock into there and are ready to be back home where they might haven’t gone back for a year or even longer.
A fifty-minute’s single bus commuting costs only no more than twenty minutes. Throughout, on the way, it freely drives to the destination. With no bother of waiting and cramming into and getting off the compartment is such joyfulness.

The fast convenient transportation and swift change within seconds’ impact a lot on men’s mind that activates the unquenchable strong desire for everything wanted.

The overall consequence of the economic revolution is remarkable. It, by the way, comes at the price on negative pills for the livelihood to swallow up. Smog is the just the right presence of hatred.

- Indeed, the effect of the approaching Spring Festival is starting to show up. Everyone have their own arrangements on how to spend the new year holidays. Some choose to return to the warmth of home and be with family, relatives and friends. Some use those holidays to travel for sightseeing and entertainment. Transport systems are now much more efficient and everyone can afford to go wherever they desire.
It is quite amazing that the tradition of the Spring Festival don't fade out. This is the time of the year to get together and enjoy the family cohesion. Due improved transport and communications, people are likely to work far away from home and it is during the Spring Festival that people can return to good home home for a reunion.
The sound of firecrackers everywhere, children dressed up in traditional new year wear and parents dressed up neat and tidy with impression hair styles.
Those who are single, like me for example, would feel a bit lost. During the festival, shops would be closed for weeks. I would have to walk quite a distance before I can find a food shop which still serves meals, but the food are not fresh because there are no farm supplies during those days. I better stock up on sufficient food for the holidays. On the other hand, I would be visiting friends and business associates to convey new year greetings and present some nice gifts. One thing I love most is the brown New Year pudding (Nien Ko). it goes so well with Chinese Tea.
Time is passing so fast and another new year is here again. People say time pass fast when times are good. Hope everyone would have a wonderful new year.

- When I was a child, I used to count days till spring festivals. At that time new year means new clothes, luck money, abundant delicious food. But now, I just regard spring festival just like any common day. I continous ask me why? I often hear such kind of complain: the new year's show is boring, the new year is boring, and , so on...
What had changed? I guess , not the new year. But our hearts changed. When we were child, we are easy contented by food or clothes, or toys. When we are grow up, we long for lots of things, if we get them, we need more; if we cannot get them, we just make a curse that we have a bad luck. Too often, we use our eyes to see thing, for it is very easy, but seldom do we use our heart to feel the enssential of the things. Why we hard buy tickets go back home? for we just go home for spring festival? Why just choose this day? Because...... How many times do you go home to see your parents or just call back to your home?? Once/Twice...., Why so less? Because we are busy.
We should try our best to get a better life, if we don't get it, it is ok. The only thing is really matter, we use our heart and soul to fee life, not just for the sake of living.

Yes, it is getting closer. I also stock up some yet, meanwhile have bought some others for parents so they do not have to worry too much for the time to serve the arrival of relatives then.

- Yes, you are right. That is why I often call parents and go back as possible as I can when I am free. Thought sometimes, it is busy, I do squeeze out time to d something for them and also for myself.

We used to be content easily. Now, though we got enough qualified things in materials, yet weak in finding something we want in mentality.
Whatever the tickets or some others, we have to make the choice. We live not just for having to live.
