When it comes to dinner time, it definitely would be a nice moment to enjoy palatable food. I’d like to choose the seat in the canteen which is next to the window. It is a fixed one whenever I am there. Of course, if I do not come out in time, it would be taken by some others. Anyway I just like that one.
Having an idea seat, I enjoy the lunch very comfortably. If there is somebody else who can be the partner to eat together is also fine. But I’d propose that we should choose someone whose appetite and eating speed are almost same to each other. Usually we find some who swallow food and down drink and soup very fast. Such a person is often to push too much pressure on his partner. Supposing, there is no time limitation, while the guy who eats incredibly faster than you do, and then you unconsciously speed up. After the painstaking catching up, you are very likely to suffocate by the food stuck in the gullet; meanwhile fail to compete with that faster eating guy. Sometimes, I really doubt if such kind of person really chews seriously. If he eats too fast, will it be a burden on his stomach to digest? But it seems he is good in health that he can run fast and walk in the speed of wind when he just passes by. I also wonder that kind of guy’s teeth must be intact protected well because the fast swallowing does not consume much and causes potential tooth abrasion. Superman or weirdo?
It is also very painful to wait somebody else who eats very slowly. Though in most cases, I feel on problem to wait, while it just cripples the moment on the table. I can also sense the guy sits in the opposite seat is doing his best to eat, and sometimes if possible, I am lucky to glance at his face with misery.
I used to swallow food, just like those young guys who have a big appetite, but now I change to eat slowly than what I did before. To be honest, now I am at the status of not so fast and not so slow. Long sedentary sitting once made my stomach function weak. After the adjustment of regular physical exercises and fixed diet, I feel normal to be back again. Therefore, yummy food then becomes joyful. Even the food is not called to be that delicious, but you can’t help swallowing saliva since a good appetite always makes everything tasty. Even a simply processed pie without proper condiments brings an imaginable experience.
Many years later, I get used to the medium speed on dinner. It helps me to have food and also rethink of something that I just do not figure out in the work. Since the relaxing atmosphere usually generates some inspired approach that I just cannot make out facing the computer. If there is no matter of urgency, I will follow the rhythm I have fostered.
