A lesson from the marathon

On 22 May, 21 dead in the marathon race held in Baiyin Gansu province was a tragic news. Many of those who lost their lives in this race were top runners. And they are from ordinary families and earn their bread by taking part in various of marathos races.
I like running, but I never have the idea to join in a race like that. As long as I feel good enough after running, I find it is okay.
While many of those top runners who are for the purpose of winning rewards have another different goal. Before they trained to be professionals, they made their livings from many jobs, such as food deliverers. So they were the backbones of their families. Now they are gone which is the huge loss for their families.
Nowadays holding a marathon race is kind of hot. Over the decade, the marathon races were keeping increasing year by year. The organizer can make profits from a race like that by the support of sponers and other fees.
Yet, compared to foreign races, we still have a long way to go. Since we are not that well organized in terms of health aid, food supply, sports equipment, safety consciousness, etc. Particularly in such a race in that extreme weather and aera, it could have prepared better.
Ignorance of safety came the severe consequence.
