Love Beijing, love my hometown

Born in Beijing, I’m glad to be a native Beijinger. As it to me, Beijing is not only a political center, but more like a connection between modernity and tradition, where I have lived for twenty years. Obviously, Beijing is best known for its brilliant history. It’s the capital city of china, not just now, but also in five dynasties in Chinese history. Actually, Beijing is also renowned for its cultural diversity. Over 1 million foreign people from over 150 countries are living in Beijing now, chich is absolutely amazing. As is known to all, Beijing is the capital where most of the national leaders live in.

Beijing is divided into 14 urban and suburban districts and two rurak counties. Beijing is a major transportion hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in china, while the terminal three is in high technical standard.

Beijing is a traditional city which has thousand years history. The earlist remnants of human habitation in the Beijing municipality are found in the caves of Dragon bone hill near the village of Zhoukoudian in Fangshan district, where the peiking man lived. After that, Beijing people lived here for thousands years and Beijing has become the capital city of five dynasties in Chinese history.

Every day walking along the street in Beijing, I am always fascinated by the interaction between modernity and tradition, as the glass-wrapped buildings are sprouting up all over the 3000-year-old city. The city is a popular tourist destination, famous for attractions like the Tian’an men square, the Great Wall, the Forbidden city, and variety modern spots, like Houhai pub street, the San Litun club street, the Nanluogu street and etc, where the lives are bourgeois bohemians.

The traditional snacks in Beijing are renowned and fantastic, as the taste, the smell, and even the styles are incredible and exquisite, such as the bean juice, the pea paste, and the sweet stick. Local Beijingers are friendly to travelers, while they always speak in an vibrant dialect sounds humorous and intelligent. When I was young, I loved to mimic the way local men lived in Hutongs spoke.
