I used to lose patience when i started to read an English original novel.
In order to refine my taste in English , i tried to read an English novel called Pride and Prejudice ,which is universally recommended by a lot of teachers. There is no doubt that this novel indeed ,is a quite excellent and is worth to be read. However,i felt freaking out and screwed up when i stumbled the lines. It killed me! There are so many unfamiliar words and i was still completely at sea though i finished several pages of the novel.
So i quit .My interests toward reading a English novel dispelled.
But it's getting no where. How can i just give up due to the difficulties in understanding a hardly intelligible novel? Why not try a easier one?
So i picked up A Farewell To Arms written by Hemingway and i turn out that i have done a good decision. My fading enthusiasim was recovered after i have read over half of the novel(now the novel was nearly finished).Meanwhile,i tried a lot of books such as First love,Last rites by Ian Mckellen, and One Day by Daivd Nicholls .
Sometimes i am immersed in my reading ,totally forgetting that i have a pile of homework to do.But i love reading.
It 's the first step that is troublesome.however, once you have tried, you'll know how exhilarating it is.
