The comparison between an apartment and a bungalow

Hot 2652 views. 2013-6-29 00:12 | comparison, especially, contrast, services, between

We can't absolutely say an apartment is superior to a bungalow for dwelling. Each of them has its own merits and demerits. With regard to the apartment, people prefer it mainly for many labor-saving services or devices offered within. But they should notice the inconveniences it causes to the old and young coming up and going down. In contrast with the apartment, the bungalow seems old-fashioned and disgraceful. In fact, it's proper for the old and young to live in especially before and after the heating period when the apartment dwellers are suffering from cold at night. However, people in the bungalow can heat up their brick-bed and go to sleep comfortably under their warm quilts. In addition, the bungalow is easy for fleeing from a disaster such as a fire or an earthquake.

Looking up at my apartment building, it looks like a mass of bird cages assembled together into a building. Every family is assigned a unit. When next door plays music or TV louder, it disturbs you. Everytime you go out of the building you have to pass the guardman and press a security code number when you return home. The feeling is tense because people are too cramped together without much privacy. When there is a fire or emergency, everybody uses the same lift or staircase. It is a nightmare for the elderly. The only benefits are the buildings are concrete and therefore, stronger and cheaper to maintain.

It is much better living in a detatched house or bungalow because it is single level, having a much homely feel and best of all have their own garden or yard to grow some fruits or vegetables. Older people loves those open space and the chance to grow something.

However, with limited land available, people are forced into those multi-storey buildings. Sooner of later those independent houses would be less and less. It is indeed a pity.

I guess the bungalow in the developped countries is well equipped as well. If it has all the labor-saving devices, I'd like to live in a bundalow beside a lake. But the housing price is too expensive in China. I can't even afford an apartment.
