It was raining hard when I left school yesterday afternoon near the time we knock off every day. As I arrived home my trousers and shoes were all wet despite the protection of my raincoat. I had to change into some dry clothes and another pair of shoes. This cool drizzly morning I got to school later than usual. I took off the trousers and the shoes splashed by the rain and put on the spare pants and footwear I carried there. I suffered a little from the rain but our cabbages and turnips in the garden benefitted a lot. Mother needn’t water them any more for the moment.
