Today I accepted the first bribe in my life as a teacher. Mr. Ren, a retired teacher of our school, came to our office towards the end of our working time. He signaled me to follow him out of the room which was full of my colleagues at that hour. Walking along the corridor outside, he expressed his intention. He asked me in English class to help his granddaughter, his divorced daughter's daughter, who is in Grade Three. He ushered me to the gate of the inner yard and handed me some little fishes contained in a small plastic bag.
