As the basic units of society, families have been dwindling with the time. The policy of family planning is the main reason for the situation. Second, children tend to leave their parents and build their own independent families when they grow up. The former large families in which grandparents, parents, children and grandchildren lived together can hardly be seen nowadays. The antagonism between the parents and their married children is almost unavoidable. Both think each other a burden and intend to get rid of each other. This has caused millions of solitary old people living alone helplessly. Up to now the best place for them is a nursing home rather than the hopeless embrace of their raised children.

- It all boils down to who needs who. Young couples look to their parents to care for their new born babies while they go out and earn income. Parents are also used as cash cows where the parents would turn over their life savings to pay down payments for new homes for the young family.
The only thing the aged parents expects is family unity and the enjoyment of a integrated family who can care for them in their old age.
In the end, all that happens is that the elderly parents would be dumped into nursing homes when they slowly rot away.
Let it be known that we would also be old someday, so how would we like to be treated? Expect to be treated the way you treat your parents.
