- The good thing about Chinese food is the variety. A change from rice to flour based food is a nice change. Love those hot steamed buns with a choice of different stuffing. My favorite steamed food is the soft flour paste sheet wrapped in fried oil stick.

- At the breakfast time deep-fried dough sticks are available at the roadside stalls. I found they are not so delicious as in the past. That's why I don't buy and eat them nowadays although they give off very pleasant smell when they are fresh from the oil pot. The oil might have been used again and again without protection from the dust day after day. The food could be doubtful ,viewed from the sanitation point.

- Yes you are right. All my friends told me to avoid those oil fried sticks because of the doubtful oil. Thanks for your caring advice. I buy and eat them in my city weekly which is safe because here we have high food standards. Anyone using or selling unsafe food would lose his license and got to prison for 6 months. Well, eating is the most commonly enjoyed event, so people often say 'dirt you cannot see is considered as clean. That is just asking for trouble.
