南京社会儿童福利院的弃婴岛（正式名称为“婴儿安全岛”）自12月10日启用以来，几乎每天都收到弃婴，而据该院工作人员称，最近几日更是有外地的父母看到相关报道后，开车把孩子送过来。本来是为保障弃婴生命的“安全岛”，设立之后却带来了更多的弃婴，现实与初衷的违背让福利院方面显得十分尴尬。
Since the Social Welfare Home for Children in Nanking launched a program（ formally named Infants' Safety Inland ）to take in abandoned babies on December 10, it has been busy admitting newcomers almost every day. According to the staff there, recently some parents from other regions should drive their unwanted children over after watching the relevant report. The Safety Inland aimed at saving the life of the deserted babies has become a refuge encouraging abandonment. The consequence against its original intention puts the charity institution in a very awkward position.

- It must be very painful for the parents to abandon their own flesh and blood and never to see them again. This would certainly turn into a life long regret. Knowing that one's own child is in this world and not knowing how they are ding or how they look like growing up must be agonizing. People should not abandon their children because since you have brought them to this world, you should raise them. All that is needed is 15-20 years and they can survive on their own.
