The day before yesterday I felt some pain in the lower gum on the right. The innermost molar nearby has been decayed. From the night the gum and the lower jaw there began swelling. Yesterday as soon as I arrived at mother's, she found my face swollen. She said I might suffer from excessive internal heat caused by the imbalance of yin and yang after son's departure. Last night I could hardly sleep for a moment for the pain. This morning I got up early looking up the treatment for gingivitis on the net. I learnt that it's important to maintain oral hygiene, eat a nutritious diet and lead a regular life for preventing the disease.

- Oh actually this gum disease is quite common these days. I have a few friends around me having the same problem. They have severe reactions when drinking or eating chilled or cold things or hot things. They found they have receding gums whereby their the inner gums or nerves are exposed. The affected side of the face becomes swollen but would recede after few days. You would be able to see the receding gums using a small torch or use a phone to take video of the affected gums. Eventually the tooth would loosen and fall off. It is age related and happens when you reach a certain older age. Unfortunately, there is no cure and it would only cure itself when the tooth is extracted or falls off by itself. Rinse your mouth with water after each meal to avoid affecting other teeth, but sooner or later other teeth would have problems too. It is hard to avoid.
Yes your approach is correct, eat more nutritious food especially dark green vegetables like spinach.
