The large logs I had brought back from the roadside last spring needed to be sawn and chopped into small pieces as firewood to light our stove. I have been occupying myself in doing such manual work these recent warm days. First, I took the upper part of the trunk to tackle, which was thinner with less knobs and so could be cut and hacked easily compared with the lower part. If it hadn’t been for brother's tricycle and saw, I wouldn't have moved the trunk home. Now without the same sharp saw, how could I break up the logs successfully with my own blunt one？However, the work was progressing very slowly. Every step forward cost me enormous pains and efforts.
