We have omitted to paste spring couplets for three years running since wife's death. Before that, I had been enthusiastically writing and pasting couplets on each Spring Festival. Now I have got used to giving up the activity. Seeing our east neighbor sticking couplets, mother couldn't help following suit for we had ever been given a few couplets. But we needed to make some paste for that. First I showed my opposition to her move. Soon I was convinced to join the operation. Mother pointed that the act indicates a positive attitude towards life. It marks the beginning of a new year full of hope.
